Professor Rahul Panat has been named the Associate Director of Research at the Manufacturing Futures Institute (MFI) at Mill 19. Prof. Panat will manage the additive manufacturing segment of the MFI and is currently creating a meticulous plan to install various state of the art equipment for students and researchers to use. MFI is a permanent organization supporting manufacturing activities across the entire campus and managed by Carnegie Mellon College of Engineering, the newly established institute will have both the long-term vision and funding to address the complex challenges facing U.S. and global manufacturing and enhance economic development.
